Scuba Diving in Cozumel with Dive Paradise

2-Tank Twilight Dive

The difference is amazing — night and day!

Cozumel Scuba Diving Tour Description (Twilight)

World-class dives on legendary coral reefs and walls in Cozumel

The twilight two-tank trip offers the best of two worlds – day and night. This is a unique opportunity to compare action on the reefs — before sundown and after. And you’ve got a front row seat.

The first tank is a relaxing afternoon dive. The second is a night dive on a shallow reef, either Paradise, Chankanaab or Yucab.

It’s Cozumel After Dark! Get ready for the kind of wild nightlife you won’t find at Señor Frog’s or Margaritaville.

On the bottom, count on explosions of color and action everywhere you point your light. The creatures of the night shift are out in the open, roaming the reef. King-size moray eels, lobsters and spider crabs. Clouds of iridescent squid and cuttlefish. Octopus dancing down the reef. For the local residents, it’s a frenzy of feed, fight or… mate.

At Dive Paradise, we entrust guests to the care of our certified, in-water divemasters. We provide one divemaster for each six divers on Twilight Trips, so groups remain small underwater.

Never a crowd with Dive Paradise… Count on us for spacious boats, with lots of elbow room to spread out. At night, our vessels are well lighted from stem to stern, including the wide dive platforms and boarding ladders.

After the last dive, we’ll drop you back at your hotel in time for a night on the town.

With the two-tank twilight trip, relax, kick back, feel safe…. At Dive Paradise, service is always friendly, personal, attentive — and professional.

2-Tank Twilight Dive

Detailed Scuba Dive Trip Description

It’s your vacation — with Dive Paradise you’re free to dive at your own pace.

The twilight two-tank trip offers the best of two worlds – day and night. We’ll dive one tank before sundown, and one after. This is a unique opportunity, to compare the action on the reefs — before sundown and after. And you’ve got a front row seat.

During the day, natural sunlight is rendered blue as it filters through the 50-foot column of sea water. At night, your dive lamp is a portable mini sun. As you shine your light, close-up, on the fish and corals, you see the brilliant, vivid, true colors of the reef. In Cozumel, these colors are dazzling.

And you notice movement everywhere you shine your lamp. For the local residents, it’s a frenzy of feed, fight or… mate. Welcome to the amazing world of “they only come out at night.”

The stony corals that appeared rock-like by day, they look different by night. They’re alive! The polyps shimmer and move — in gentle waves of color. They open to feed like flowers, as they draw in the nutrients from the currents.

During the day, the giant moray eels, lobsters and spider crabs doze out of sight, in their hidey holes. At night, these king-size creatures move out into the open. It’s Clash Of The Titans as these brutes battle for food and mating rights.

Clouds of squid and cuttlefish shimmer in your light. They turn amazing iridescent colors as they flutter in the currents.

A lone octopus dances down the reef, shape-shifting right before your eyes. Shine your light on Mister Eight and you may see him shift colors as he dials in his camo, to match the background. He’s trying to hide.

A giant basket starfish unfolds in a tangle of tendrils to feed in the currents. Is this tentacled monstrosity some sci-fi nightmare from the movie “Alien?” — waiting to attach to the next human face that comes too close. No, but it looks creepy.

Never a crowd with Dive Paradise… Count on us for spacious boats, with lots of elbow room to spread out. At night our vessels are well lighted from stem to stern, including the wide dive platforms and boarding ladders.

On board we serve complimentary snacks and purified water.

Need a primary dive light or a spare? Need rental equipment? Ask in advance, and your gear will be waiting for you when you board.

After the last dive we’ll drop you back at your hotel in time for a refreshing shower, dinner and a lively night on the town.

Detailed Scuba Dive Trip Itinerary

Welcome aboard, friends, for your twilight two-tank dive trip!

The boat departs between 3:00 p.m. After the second dive, we head home. Most twilight trips return around 8:00pm.

The first tank is a relaxing afternoon dive. During the surface interval, we’ll bid farewell to the Yucatan sun as it slowly slips toward the horizon at Playa del Carmen.

At twilight, we’ll pull out the underwater lamps for the second tank. We’ll dive on a shallow reef: either Paradise, Chankanaab or Yucab.

We descend just before dark, so you get a few minutes to adjust to the fading light.

Now it’s live to the reef, for Cozumel After Dark! Get ready for the kind of wild nightlife you won’t find at Señor Frog’s or Margaritaville.

Forty feet down it’s go-go-go… It’s a mad rush hour during the shift change. The day crew is calling it quits. The sun worshippers are looking for a safe place to tuck in for the night. The night crew rolls out of bed hungry, eager to feed. The reef has switched into dark mode.

On the bottom, what’s the first thing you notice? An explosion of color everywhere you point your light.

At the end of the dive, you approach the surface for the safety stop. You swirl your hands in the current. Tiny organisms spark up, like microscopic fireflies. The grand finale for your night dive is a private fireworks show — courtesy of Mother Ocean and the magic of bioluminescence.

At Dive Paradise, we entrust guests to the care of our certified, in-water Divemasters. Their goal is to guide you on a safe, pleasurable dives. We provide one Divemaster for each six divers on Twilight Trips. If a group exceeds six, we split it in two and send an extra Divemaster. That way, groups remain small underwater.

With the two-tank twilight trip, relax, kick back, feel safe…. At Dive Paradise, service is always friendly, personal, attentive — and professional.

Dive Paradise boasts the largest fleet of safe boats in Cozumel. And we offer the widest selection of dive trips on the island. It’s a menu of reefs, departure times and special trips that’s unmatched by other operators.
