Diver’s Information Sheet

MOST IMPORTANT!!

Upon Arrival in Cozumel stop by DIVE PARADISE (our main store) to reconfirm your dive days, boat pickup times, and departure point.

Your Voucher is your ticket for services to be rendered and must be presented to Dive Paradise at least 12 hours prior to the starting time of your first service.

Prior to diving, you must turn in a Divers Information Sheet. You may download a DIS, print and fill-out in advance or obtain one from us in Cozumel. We highly recommend that divers carry DAN or similar insurance coverage.

The store, conveniently open 7 days a week from 7:00 a. m. – 10:00 p.m., is located at 602 Rafael Melgar, the coast road, just north of Palace Resorts Hotel and the Hotel Barracuda, situated directly next door to the Naval Station.

Welcome Tanks

All divers are given a free tank for shore diving on arrival day. We believe that it’s always a good idea to make a weight adjustment, orientation dive before jumping off the boat on a Cozumel drift dive. This offer must be used before your boat diving commences!

Changes in the scheduling of your services can be made (at Dive Paradise’s option) with at least 12 hours notice. Later changes will incur a 50% rescheduling fee. Groups of eight or more divers must speak directly with Dive Paradise owner, Renee “Apple” Applegate to reschedule. She can be reached when in Cozumel at 872-1007. There will be a US$10.00 transfer fee per trip for changing from one type of trip to a different one. No Exceptions!

Refunds and Cancellations

No refunds will be given for “no shows” and unused services. Dive Paradise may or may not offer a “raincheck” at their discretion. Cancellations incur a 50% rescheduling fee unless Dive Paradise is notified at least 12 hours in advance.

Rough Weather

Rare – but if the seas appear rough in the morning it is possible that the boats will not depart from the usual pickup docks. In such cases, it is very important they you contact Dive Paradise as they may have to change your pickup point to “La Caleta”, the harbor near the Presidente Hotel. Phone the shop at 872-1007. Or better still, check with Dive Paradise in person.

On such mornings the phones are so busy it is almost impossible for Dive Paradise to get through to you at your hotel. Bad weather is not our fault! We are not responsible for and do not pay taxi fares to or from, modified departure points.

Re-compression Services

In the event of a diving emergency, the Meditur Hyperbaric Chamber is a state-of-the-art re-compression chamber facility located on Cozumel Island, with which Dive Paradise is affiliated. All divers are advised to have DAN insurance when they travel to Cozumel. Dive Assure and PADI are also recognized. If you have any questions regarding the chamber or insurance coverage, feel free to contact us. We stress both safety and fun without compromise!

The chamber is located on Calle 6 Norte (6th Street North) #135, between 5th Ave. and 10th Ave., and is connected with the hospital “Clinica San Miguel.” Dr Pascual Piccolo is the presiding hyperbaric physician and general practitioner. He can be reached at 803-4981 or 872-3070

Maximum Peace of Mind

If you have been out of the water for a while or for any reason feel jittery about your diving, we recommend that on your first day of diving you be accompanied by your own private Divemaster. Special guide service is available for 1 or 2 divers at US$40.00 in addition to applicable dive trip charges.

By utilizing this service you won’t have to worry about “keeping up with your group” since you will have your own in-water Divemaster/lifeguard to introduce you to Cozumel’s unique drift diving techniques and to assure that your first experience is an enjoyable one.
